Down on Derington Way - 9:45
Doom Clock - 15:00

Mailbag O Doom - 43:35 - we go through your responses to the latest Question of the Week: What's your number 1 goal at a comic convention?

Here's some of the visual goodness unavailable on a silly podcast.

I'll be trying to catch up with Mike and Paul and WilFreD and all the other guests between and since before the Doom Patrol show hits the airwaves.

. . .and if I don't quite get there, well, feel free to leave a comment. Y'know, like you do.

Episode 119: The Last Stand of Sameness OR Extra-Special!

HUZZAH!

It's a brand new post that ALMOST matches up with a brand-new episode of Waiting for Doom! YAAAAAAAAY! This one covers the extra-special WFD Episode 119 where Mike welcomes in extra-special guest Rift for an extra-special conversation about the extra-special Doom Patrol/Justice League of America Special featuring the extra-special conclusion to the extra-special Milk Wars saga. Check out the link right here.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes! Turn and face the strange; ch-ch-changes! Milk Wars is gonna change the Pa-trol!
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes! Turn and face the strange; ch-ch-changes! Paul's sick, this ep Mike is joined by Rift-y!
Milk Wars will change things; but Young Animal will be fine...
Doom Clock - 14:30Doomsplaining - 18:12 - Mike and special guest co-host Rifty discuss the Milk Wars finale in Doom Patrol / Justice League of America #1! The end of this strange adventure, and the future of the Young Animal line, is brought to us by Steve Orlando, Gerard Way, Dale Eaglesham, Nick Derington, Clay Mann, Tamra Bonvillain, Marissa Louise, and Clem Robbins!Mailbag O Doom - 37:14 - We respond to listener feedback as well as responses to the last Question of the Week, 'Which comic creator would you make exclusive to which comic company?'

So how about some wonderful images and stuff?!?

Clay Mann & Marissa Louise knock out the cover.

Ibrahim Moustafa lent a hand on some of the Rita Farr-centric pages. Very Passion Play.

Punching some cows with Dale Eaglesham, Tamra Bonvillain, Marissa Louise, and Clem Robins.

Exactly my reaction at this point in the comic.

Question of the Week:

It’s the solitary Question of the Week:

Who is your favourite loner character in comics?

At This Stage

Here's the screenshot of the expected release date for Doom Patrol #11 (as of this posting).

There you go, my friends! A bunch of extra-special, Doom Patrolly Goodness! With only half the calories and 10% less sugar!

"Wait! What happened to all of the other posts that should have happened?!" you ask.

(Actually, I'm not sure you asked, since no one has left any comments yet. Fee l free to do so though)

"They'll be here soon," I reply,"I'm following the Young Animal Doom Patrol Guide for Sequential Material Releases."

Episode 112: Thanks For Nothing OR A Niles Caulder Thanksgiving Special

Let's start with the covers:

Nick Derington's cover featuring Lucius conjuring. . .something.

Tula Lotay's variant cover.

Here's the inside look at Doom Patrol (v6) #9, with art from Nick Derington and  Tamra Bonvillain.

Mike's favorite page from the issue.

The Disappointment!

I didn't want to spoil Nick Derington's work completely, but figured it'd be good to share a piece.

I completely dug this issue, as I told Mike and Paul, it answered a lot of questions and also did a lot to set up what comes next.

Here's a pair of recent tweets Nick Derington's Twitter feed.

. . . ad, finally, here's the

Question of the Week

What is your comics-related ‘one that got away’?

DOOMvember

Young Animal's Doom Patrol #11, hitting this November, seems like an issue where a bunch of bits all collide.

Here's the solicit and the cover image for your eyeholes.

DOOM PATROL #11
Written by GERARD WAY
Art and cover by NICK DERINGTON
Variant cover by TOM FOWLER
Retailers: This issue will ship with two covers. Please see the order form for details.
Doom Patrol fights Dada and someone becomes a mama. How did life and death become so intertwined? It’s Robotman versus a classic foe as Casey and Terry take us into a whole new territory we’ve never seen before. But could this newness also just be a whole lot of nothing?
On sale NOVEMBER 22 • 32 pg, FC, $3.99 US • MATURE READERS

Jazz hands!

Also worth noting is

DC UNIVERSE BY JOHN BYRNE HC

Written by JOHN BYRNE, CARY BATES, LARRY NIVEN, MARV WOLFMAN, PAUL KUPPERBERG and others
Art by JOHN BYRNE, JOSE LUIS GARCIA-LOPEZ, KURT SCHAFFENBERGER and others
Cover by JOHN BYRNE
Legendary writer/artist John Byrne brought his unique vision to the DC Universe over his decades-long career. Rediscover his classic stories from BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS #2, CHRISTMAS WITH THE SUPER HEROES #2, DC COMICS PRESENTS: HAWKMAN #1, DCU INFINITE HOLIDAY SPECIAL #1, THE FLASH 80-PAGE GIANT #1, GREEN LANTERN ANNUAL #3, GREEN LANTERN: GANTHET’S TALE #1, NEW TEEN TITANS ANNUAL #2, OUTSIDERS #11, THE POWER OF THE ATOM #6, SECRET ORIGINS ANNUAL #1 and more!
On sale DECEMBER 13 • 352 pg, FC, $39.99 US

Sure, that's a steep price, but if you like Byrne, there's some fun reads in here. Secret Origins Annual has the origin of the Doom Patrol - and it's the original Doom Patrol plus Arani's Patrol. You could say it's The WHOLE PATROL! No sign of Byrne's version being collected though, although a collection like this could lead to his Doom Patrol run finally finding its way to Comixology. The cover image for this collection has the headlining heroes from Legends, so maybe there'll be a bit of that in there. Who knows?!

Me? My favorite - hands down - is Casey Brinke. I found her immediately relatable and fun.

Now on to the imagery for Doom Patrol (v6) #7.

Nothing to see here.

Dig them Mento helmets.

SCANTS!

Rita?

For all our thirsty readers.

Derington Do
This week, I'm just going to let Nick Derington's tweet do all the talking.

Question of the Week

"What is something you learnt from a comic?"

Personally, I learned how to spell learned properly. What about the rest of you?

Episode 97: This Is My Beard Hunter, If You’ll Pardon The Expression OR Beware the Codpiece!

Huzzah!

They've done it again! A new blog post from Mike and Paul! Here's the Podbean description:

Down on Derington Way - 8:52Byrne For You - 12:04Doom Clock - 14:42Doomsplaining - 20:01 -This week we look at issues 70 and 71 from volume 2 of the Doom Patrol, by Rachel Polack, Scott Eaton and Linda Medley!Mailbag O Doom - 44:45 - We read your responses to the question, "Who is your favourite character who hangs out with a team, but is not part of the team?"

As first appearances go, this one is not yet burning up the aftermarket.

Here's the imagery from Doom Patrol (v2) #70

Doom Patrol could be a legacy book.

Just what IS the Doom Patrol?

And the stuff from DP #71

Another Tom Taggart masterpiece.

Anyone else find it interesting to have a story titled "The Fox and the Crow" in a Doom Patrol series?
Anyone know why I find that interesting?

The Chief being his Chiefiest.

Oh, she's a feisty one, this Coagula.

Cliff's just having one of those days.

Derington by Way of Bonvillain
In order to get caught up, here's some Tweets that sum up the time between last post and this post from

From Derington. . .

. . .by Way. . .

. . .of Bonvillain.

I'm not sure if the visual style from the Star Wars Adventures carries in to the inside (interesting that Disney recognizes IDW's strength in the all ages market), but I like what I see.

Question of the Week
What Doom Patrol character (from any run) would you like to see in a spotlight issue?
