DELAYED DOOM!

According to Newsarama
The three next issues of DC/Young Animal's Doom Patrol have all been pushed back one calendar month.Doom Patrol #9 is now scheduled for release October 18. The issue was originally solicited for a June 28 release, but those orders were cancelled with the issue being resolicited later on for a September 27 release.Doom Patrol #10 and #11 have likewise been updated to November 8 and December 6 release dates.

The article goes on to say that no official reason is provided. I'm pretty sure they're delayed because Doom Patrol wants me to catch up on my other reading and a couple writing assignments.

WFD Episode 104: Dropping Some Colouring Knowledge with Tamra Bonvillain

I'm skipping 103 (for now) to bring you 104 - Mr. 104! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Sorry. Had to be done.

In all seriousness - HUZZAH!
Paul, Mike, and extra-super-amazing special guest Tamra Bonvillain gave us the wonderful Waiting for Doom Episode 104, which you can access here, and in which this happens:
This week is doubly awesome as we not only take a look at the all new issue 8 from volume 6, but we're also joined by the colourist of the series, Tamra Bonvillain!

Mailbag O Doom - 47:35 - We read your responses to the question, "What is your favourite comic character costume combo colour?"

The main cover, by Nick Derington.

The guys in beige.

Larry Trainor's technical dream page. Nice composition in color.
The Whole Patrol. Sort of.

Reunited with her cat!

Eddie Zilch
I'll have what she's having.

Keeping it light and spoiler-free, I really dug this issue. I can see where it's going to make or break the run for readers, much like Morrison's work on the second volume had moments of departure that took the Doom Patrol into unexpected places and gave readers lessons in uncomfortable comics.

Is Doom Patrol #8 the single best comic of the year? No. But it does do one hell of a job in upping the ante for what this series is about, buttoning up some lingering tales, and opening up some new questions an adventures. I dig it bunches, and cannot wait for #9.

Derington by Way of Bonvillain
Here's a bit from Nick Derington's Twitter that I found hilarious.

And, since Tamra Bonvillain was kind enough to be on the show, check out her work on this Star Wars Adventures #1 cover (which came out 6 September 2017, from IDW). The art is by The Unstoppable Wasp artist Elsa Charretier, with colors from Bonvillain.

Question of the Week:

Who no longer works in comics that you would love to see return?
I said Greg Guler. And here's a slice of why:

This one's a bit delayed, but aren't we all? Here's the goods for Waiting for Doom Episode #102, which is described thusly upon a Podbean:

Doom Clock - 11:05

And the issue's contents.

And what would a WFD-related post be without a little Nick Derington art?

Here's some bits I have lingering on my desktop that asked to be shared this week.

An image I found on Tumblr. Somewhat early Casey, but the essence is there.

An early take on Casey Brinke from Nick Derington.
Question of the Week
Really? This post is a bit too late for that, but in case you use this as an archive, following this episode Mike and Paul wanted to know: Who are your favorite fictional siblings?
