Episode 91: Waiting for ProTeen OR ProTeen's Shake Brings the Boys to the Yard
It happened! Paul Hix took a day off, so I snuck in and test drove his action chair with Waiting for Doom stalwart, Mike!
So let's get to the visuals from the Director's Cut.
Ernie Estrella from SyFy Wire sat down to chat with Gerard Way at Wonder Con last weekend, which you can check out here. The biggest Item I took away from the read and acoompanying video is this bit from Way is that in Casey and Sam, there was "A degree of positivity that was missing from comics that I could channel through those characters." He certainly channeled it.
As mentioned during the Derington Way segment, here's the link from Comicosity about BUG! and the Wonder Con panel. Heck, I'll even include the BUG! cover.
So there you have it. A Waiting for Doom in the can. Well, in your ears at least.
Don't forget, fellow Patrollers, we're looking for YOUR donations for Paul's reading library for the John Byrne issues. If you can help, drop a note here, on the Facebook page, or hit up WilFreD on Twitter.
Until next episode, be good to each other. And answer this Question of the Week:
Which DC villain/bad guy/rogues gallery have you always wanted to see the Patrol face?
Time for an all new episode of WAITING FOR PRO-TEEN! WhutWHUUT! Kick back and chill with your ProBros (one is a surprise GUEST HOST!) before you have an episode about issues and issues with episodes, and LET'S GO PRO!
Actually, something doesn't seem quite right about all that...

A behind the scenes look at the work of Gerard Way and Nick Derington, with special appearances by Shelly Bond!
- Mailbag O Doom - 45:49 - We read your responses to the question, "What is your fav-our-ite Disney film?"
The debut of ProTeen! |
The [redacted] about [redacted] was [redacted]. Sheesh. Is this a political transcript?! |

Episode 90: April, You Fool, Check Out That Keen Teen Scene! OR Mike Allred Solo!
No foolin'!
Mike, Paul, Rifty, and WilFreD are back at it again! So we need a post to match, right?
Here's the Podbean link and text.
We're BACK! A bit late than usual, but it's due to shenanigans. No time to explain - LET'S GET PATROLLING!
Let's start with the cover.
And the interiors.
Solo #7 includes an Hourman story, a Metal Men pin-up, a Batman (1966ish) adventure, and a story about the Comic Book Clubhouse. The end of the issue comes together in a wonderful celebration of all things Allred, including a shot of Hawkman leading the charge into the adult coloring book fad.
New Segment
I've teased it here, but the way things have timed out (read: the busy-ness that finds me), I haven't been able to give it the time yet, but we'll get there. I call it ReByrne.
Derington Way.
It's cancelled.
It's not.
It's on hiatus.
It's back.
Long story short: there will be a significant wait between Doom Patrol (v6) #6 and Doom Patrol (v6) #7.
Doom Patrol #6 is slated for 19 April. According to the reports rolling out of WonderCon, Doom Patrol #7 will be out sometime in July. Here's hoping.
In the interim, we'll make sure to throw a few posts up here.
For now, enjoy this shot from the WonderCon panel of Gerard Way sporting the Doom Patrollers uniform.
Until next time, my friends, here's the Question of the Week.
What's your favorite Disney movie?

SURPRISE! New segment! GASP! What's it all about?? You'll have to tune in to find out!!
Doomsplaining - 21:19 - Time for something completely different, as we take a look at a story featuring the Doom Patrol and the Teen Titans, from issue 7 of 'Solo', by Mike Allred!
Mailbag O Doom - 36:37 - super short condensed version of the mailbag this week, as there wasn't a QOTW. I'm sure you'll survive.
Let's start with the cover.
And the interiors.
No one in comics today does groovy like Mike Allred. Even if by "today" I mean 2005. |
Sssshhh! |
All the grooviness. |
It's CLANKING TIME! |
Bunny. Slippers. |
The Chief will teach you music appreciation! |
Thus ends the party. |
